About Me

My pronouns are she/her. I am a queer, white, cis-gender female who is an advocate for antiracism, sexual/gender equality, disability justice, and dismantling fatphobia. I believe in decolonizing mental health which means that therapists must be constantly learning and unlearning the ways in which systemic white supremacy and social injustice impact our clients, ourselves, and our healthcare system.

I firmly believe that much of our emotional distress stems from social injustice and inequity. I am committed to dismantling and abolishing the systems that are a detriment to the mental health of BIPOC, POC, LGBTQIA+, and other marginalized folx inside and outside the therapy room. I invite conversations about societal impacts on your mind, body, and soul and create space to process the grief, anger, rage, fear, sadness, etc. that needs a voice.

Background and Education

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#135428). I graduated from Pepperdine University with a Masters in Clinical Psychology, emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. I received my psychotherapy training at The Women's Clinic and Family Counseling Center where I supported individuals one-on-one with experiences of depression, anxiety, life transitions, and the effects of trauma. I also have a background in sexual assault prevention education. I worked as a High School Instructor for the Prevention and Education Department at the UCLA Santa Monica Rape Treatment Center where I educated high school students across Los Angeles on the topic of sexual assault, the components of consent, and the impact of rape culture. I empowered students to intervene as bystanders to prevent sexual assault and harassment, end rape culture, and support survivors.

Approach

My approach is to look at the whole picture of what makes you who you are. What happened in your family? What happened in your community? What happened in your culture or society? I will walk with you at your pace and take pauses to reflect on what’s working and not working in the therapeutic process. I tailor my approach to fit each client’s unique needs. I draw from the following psychotherapeutic orientations to inform my understanding of the best interventions for you: Psychodynamic, Relational, Family Systems, Somatic, Mindfulness, and Attachment-Based.
